POSH FOLK STAND BACK, THE WORKING CLASS ARE TEKING THEIR TEA BACK!

Herbal teas are delicious, easy to make AND packed with natural benefits… but they don’t have to come wrapped in fancy packaging or with a massive price tag!! We’re all about bringing herbal tea back to the people. These plant-powered teas should be fresh, simple and delicious, not stuffy, posh or inaccessible.

Our tea blends are crafted to represent our partnerships and communities.

As we explore the properties of plants together in our workshops, each organisation is creating a blend to support the community - from sleep blends to trauma blends. Herbs are selected from lived experience perspectives and engagement with plants.

Herbal teas that don't promise any intense HEAL YOUR WHOLE LIFE offers, but they are:

  • Hand-crafted in this city we love - grown together, harvested together and shared together.

  • Created to represent real lived experiences by real people .

  • Affordability - stand back overpriced and over-promising herbal teas, step in herbal support you can understand and learn with!

  • Every purchase supports more NGP garden creations and a % also supports the creator - so for example, if you love our POW Tea every time you buy it, it also supports the team over there too!

These teas are not solutions or replacements for health support, and health care advise should still be taken. However, they do hold benefits and properties that can aid better management and support of the body.

Community herbalism is about empowering individuals to support their own wellbeing and health journey. Growing our teas, and harvesting and blending them together makes for a heart felt cuppa that represents and supports different communities right here in Notts!

A note from Micha

Working in hospitals for 12 years, I discovered the hard way there was little preventative work done in areas of health. As a neuro-spicy queen with multiple diagnoses I had also had my own fair share of lack of access, or tokentistic space holding. I wanted alternatives that helped me and my patients feel empowered in their health, and not disempowered as our health systems often leave us.  I dived into plant studies to offer myself and the people I worked with more, then NGP redirected my path on a full mission to look at nutrients, food, green space and health. Recognising the intersections within, and how they all connect to the inequitable health picture we see today.

The veggies always get the most shout-outs at NGP, but I’ve been waving the herb flag for some time now! With the help of Pulp, POW and Places for People, we hope to be offering our first tea ranges in May 2025. So stay tuned…summets brewin!
